Chace Crawford, one of the stars of "Gossip Girl", will play the role made famous by Kevin Bacon in "Footloose". Crawford will play Ren McCormack in the movie after finally deciding that he would sign on to the film this week. Paramount gave Usmagazine.com the exclusive news and Paramount is expected to announce the news to other publications Wednesday morning.
Crawford was offered the role after Zac Efron bowed out of the movie role a few months ago. He was having trouble working his schedule out to be able to shoot the movie, but was eventually able to do so.
Chace Crawford was also named "The Sexiest Bachelor" in People Magazine June 17.
